Jim Pines, CPA

Managing Director

Jim has worked as a top executive in a diverse range of businesses throughout his career.  For over 20 years, he helped build his family’s manufacturing business into a global enterprise, completing his tenure with the company as an Executive Vice President in charge of sales and operations. Afterward, he opened his family’s family office, and in 2016, started working on an ag-tech start-up business that he Co-Founded. This enterprise allowed him to merge his business experience with his personal interest in agriculture and conservation.

However, exposure to the harmful outcomes of commercial agriculture both in terms of deteriorating farm income and environmental impacts heightened his interest in exploring alternative approaches to conventional farming. As a result, he has dedicated his career to building financial infrastructure and mobilizing capital towards opportunities that produce resilient economic, social, and environmental outcomes.

Jim is on the Board of Directors of the Aldo Leopold Foundation and is an Advisor for the Savanna Institute. He owns three farm properties in the Midwest, which are managed according to conservation and regenerative agriculture practices. Additionally, he is a commercially rated private pilot.
